While reading a digital copy of The Ladies Home Journal,… what doesn’t everyone?… I came across this.  It’s interesting to see how some of these ‘prophecies’ came to be, if in a unique approach, and some are just downright ridiculous.

Accuracy Check:

Five Hundred Million People: CLOSE!  While the U.S. population didn’t quite hit that mark, we did experience tremendous exponential growth!  Also it should be noted that while Mexico didn’t gain admittance to the union, it might as well have.

The American will be Taller: I don’t really care to look up all the stats on this one, but I’m betting to wager this one’s pretty true.  Look around, how many kids are taller than there parents?

There will be no C, X, or Q: While we still do use these letters, there a host of other things missing.

Hot and Cold Air from Spigots: Sorta. Heating and Cooling has grown tremendously since 1900.

No Mosquitos or Flies: Trying camping in Michigan near a lake in June.  Bullshit.

Ready-Cooked Meals: Pretty much dead except for the part about washing the utensils, I’m not convinced that they do that.

It goes on, but I won’t.  It’s worth a read though.
